Our Thanksgiving Dinner Cancelled for 2020
We are sad to inform you that our traditional free Lotus Thanksgiving Dinner on the night before Thanksgiving is canceled this year due to the pandemic. We apologize for canceling this popular event on the night before Thanksgiving this year, but the safety of our patrons and our staff must come first. Our Thanksgiving Dinner usually invites a crowd of almost one thousand people and we cannot risk the spread of the virus.
Lotus Cuisine of India will be also be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The Lotus Family of Restaurants is extremely thankful to all our patrons, social media followers and all our supporters. We will continue our free Thanksgiving dinner tradition once the pandemic is over.
Marin County is back to Tier 2 again. The Red Tier means there will be no indoor dining for now. Marin County joins other Bay Area counties in tightening restrictions for indoor environments and follows San Francisco’s move to ban indoor dining again. Learn more about Marin Tiers.
“We’re choosing to move into the red tier before the state moves us to get in front of this surge,” Marin County Public Health Officer Dr. Matt Willis said. “We’re seeing more people getting sick with COVID-19 and needing hospitalization. With flu season and potential impacts from holiday gatherings and travel, it’s time to act to prevent a much larger surge.”
“Restaurants have worked so hard this year to stay in business. Now the rainy season is upon us, which makes utilizing outdoor spaces nearly impossible. It is a blow to our local economy”, said Joanne Webster, President and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce.
We wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
