Lotus uses Organic and Non-GMO Ingredients

The award winning Indian Cuisine is now even more eco-friendly!

In early 2013 Lotus Cuisine of India restaurant in downtown San Rafael underwent extensive renovation. Lotus now features a state-of-the-art energy-efficient kitchen with environmentally-friendly appliances. On top of that Lotus is now a certified Bay Area Green Business.

The amazing Lotus menu had gotten an eco-upgrade as well. You’ll see that there are many more organic, healthy, local and non-GMO ingredients! Lotus is becoming an organic restaurant!

Check out some of the organic ingredients now used:

Vegetable Oil / Canola Oil – is from a non-GMO verified project. Canola oil is low in calories and fat, this oil is not only heart friendly, but also contains omega-3 as well as omega-6.

Soy Products (Soy Sauce, Tofu, Soy Oil) –  we use organic tofu for all our soy products

Zucchini or Crookneck Squash –  we buy our supply from an organic farm in Watsonville near Santa Cruz.

Sugar –  we are in the process of sourcing organic sugar

Honey – Lotus uses organic honey. There are many nutritional benefits we can get from honey and also a good source of natural sugar.

Eggs and dairy Products – are all organic from Clover Farms

Poultry – Lotus uses natural and organic

Meat – our meat source is from Fulton Valley Farm

Produce – fresh and organic produce is from West Coast Produce in Oakland,

Overall Lotus Cuisine of India is already 70-75% certified organic. About 15-20% of our ingredients are now Non-GMO certified or sustainable. We also do not use any beef or corn GMO products.
