A 12-year Marin tradition continues with a free Thanksgiving eve meal at Lotus Cuisine of India at 704 Fourth St. in San Rafael and Café Lotus at 1912 Sir Francis Drake in Fairfax. Owner Surinder Sroa and his staff will dish out Indian specialties like chicken tikka masala, mixed veg fritters, nan and rice pudding from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 23. Reservations are not taken although they expect more than 1,000 patrons so a long line is expected. The restaurants will be closed for a needed rest on Thanksgiving Day.
